Champions for Children – WiFi Access for Families in Need
Champions for Children is committed to being a valuable resource to our children and families during this COVID-19 crisis. For several weeks, Champions’ staff members have offered playgroups, parent classes, and individual support via video, and we are seeing an increased demand for these classes!
Extreme stress and social isolation – especially during national crises – are known to significantly increase the risk of child abuse and neglect leading to potentially devastating outcomes for both children and adults. Our parents are spending more time than ever at home with their children due to social distancing restrictions. As a result, we have learned that there is a great need for WiFi hotspots with unlimited data, so families with no internet access at home can access our wide range of no-cost virtual family support programs. Reliable internet service is also critical to accessing benefits like unemployment, tracking stimulus checks, and communicating with service providers who can help with a myriad of issues. Your donation to Champions for Children will help us meet this need for our families.
