COVID19 Support

Florida Dream Center is building and rebuilding safe, productive and endearing communities, one person at a time, to restore lives. Florida Dream Center is dedicated to helping those who are in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 crisis not only hindered incoming food donations, but it also postponed outgoing donations leaving many families without food due to many smaller pantries closing. The community is supporting our efforts during COVID-19 by donating food to the underserved families so that Florida Dream Center can deliver it during this crucial time.

Florida Dream Center is also connecting these families to federal nutrition programs, post-crisis. During these difficult times, it is imperative that we pulled together as a community. The old saying “it takes a village” is not far from the truth in these circumstances. The Florida Dream Center cannot continue to provide necessities unless we pull together as a community.

Our COVID-19 relief efforts to distribute food to families and prepackaged school meals for the children will not only help to alleviate hunger but also relieves cost burden expenditures related to food for low-income parents and those who recently became unemployed. This project will use staff members, collaborative partners, and volunteers throughout the week to deliver to local pantries, churches, shelters, and low-income neighborhoods in need of food. Once the pandemic ceases, this project will extend to the newly unemployed parents who will need our social services to recover economic stability. Your small donation will go such a long way in helping us, help others put food on a table. This person could be your neighbor, could be your boss, could be your pastor, or even somebody from high school.

As we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, our organization is continually in discussion with the local county government, the Health Department, and partners such as Feeding Tampa Bay to ensure we keep our volunteers, residents, and staff safe. Due to the nature of the vulnerable population we serve, the Florida Dream Center has every intention to continue providing critical services.

Whether it is our low-income families, our elderly, our homeless or our school age children, Florida Dream Center will remain open to support those in need. We have been deemed an essential organization therefore we are opening our doors beyond our typical borders to all who reside in Pinellas County that are in need. Whether it is food, clothes, hygiene, or appliances, Florida Dream Center will provide to all.

On Saturdays, we continue to set up our stationary sites in Lealman and East Tarpon Springs but with necessary precautions that include everyone staying at least 6 feet apart, wearing gloves/masks, and limiting our space to 10 people or less.

As a 501(c)3 tax exempt corporation, the Florida Dream Center thrives based upon donations by individuals like you, corporations like yours, and foundations that have a heart for those in need. Your financial contributions are needed for us to maintain and grow the services we offer, reaching those in need where they need it most.

I humbly ask, would you please consider making a monthly donation or a one-time donation to the Florida Dream Center so we can continue to support our community?
