It’s simple, Friends of Bess support the mission in many ways: Host Jennifer and a volunteer at your home to save money on hotel costs, and/or Host a neighborhood fundraiser and the local children can come pick out a book when they bring a donation to Bess, and/or Organize a Bess the Book Bus visit to your school, each child (for a suggested $5 donation per student) can climb aboard Bess and pick out a book. This idea has worked well for student council groups that are youth-led. About us	Bess the Book Bus is a Tampa based mobile literacy outreach dedicated to narrowing the achievement gap created by poverty. We build home libraries and a love for reading in our most underserved communities across the USA by making the joy of book ownership a reality for our kids. Bess the Book Bus’ volunteers and board members envision a nation where all of our children have access to the basic resources they need to be successful in school and later in life. Bess the Book Bus serves 50,000+ kids & gives away over 50,000 books in dozens of states across the USA each year.
