Ways to help | Become a Tutor VolunteerAnyone 18 years of age or older interested in improving someone’s life by serving as a volunteer tutor to help an adult improve their reading and writing skills, or teach English as a second language. A good command of the English language and grammar is required, but prior teaching experience and/or fluency in multiple languages are not mandatory. Basic knowledge of computers and email is helpful when planning lessons and communicating with other tutors. Every tutor must attend the one day Tutor Training Seminar which is offered every few months. |
