Assist with Activities, Cognitive and Physical Fitness Exercises with Seniors

In the helping profession or have a knack for crafts, cognitive and physical fitness exercises? Enjoy working with older adults with dementia and cognitive disorders? This is your kind of opportunity!

Neighborly, a leader in senior services, has openings for Adult Day Center (ADC) Site Assistant volunteers who, along with staff, help with activities as well as physical fitness and cognitive exercises. The volunteer interacts with clients, staff, and the site manager in a friendly and respectful manner while following all Neighborly policies and procedures and maintaining client privacy. Volunteers do not feed or assist clients to/in/from restrooms. Must be able to interact and engage well with people. Craft, activities, and basic understanding of dementia also helpful.

Neighborly operates three day care centers and volunteers can choose one or all to share their talents (South St. Petersburg, Largo, and Palm Harbor). Choose any weekday and serve weekly, or once a month, between 10 – 11:45am or 1- 2pm.

How you help

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Neighborly. In the midst of a pandemic, volunteers delivered nearly 589,000 meals to 2,500 seniors in the county each day! Volunteers are also utilized to assist in our Adult Day Care Centers as assistants and entertainers, in our senior cafes serving senior diners, and as drivers ensuring seniors get to important medical appointments on time.
