Visiting Volunteer Program postponed
We know this is an anxious time for many. We want to assure you that your Florida Chapter is doing all we can to safely carry out our mission.
The ALS Association Florida Chapter has modified our care services programs, as recommended by the CDC. This includes:
Postponing our in-person support groups and Visiting Volunteer Program until further notice; and
Suspending delivery of non-essential equipment through our Equipment Loan program. (For urgent issues, we ask that you contact your Regional Program Manager so she can determine if we can provide a safe means for delivery.)
We’ve also suspended our spring Walk to Defeat ALS schedule, including the events planned in Palm Beach, Orlando, Broward, Jacksonville, Southwest Florida, Sarasota and Tampa. Our volunteer committees and staff are working together to find alternatives for each of these Walks once we are confident they can be held safely. In the meantime, each of these Walks is still up on our website, and we are asking everyone to continue to build their teams and raise money to support our care services programs in your communities.
This is a rapidly evolving situation. Please be assured your staff partners are continuing to work remotely so you should feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
